Success Leaves Clues

By Administrator

Tony Robbins is one of the greatest motivational speakers and personal development gurus of our times and it was he who coined the phrase “Success Leaves Clues.”

But what did he mean?

He meant that, in the pursuit of success, others have left footprints in the sand that you can follow.

And there are different types of clues.

Clues of what to do, as well as what to avoid.

And the best thing about it is, these clues are all around you…if you know where to look.

But don’t get me wrong I’m not saying that you need follow the ALL clues in order to become an exact replica of someone else.

You should NEVER try to be like someone else.

Instead, you need to be the best version of YOU.

You need to find out what it is that you want to do. To discover what sort of writer you want to be.

To do this, you need to ask yourself what it is that you really want. What sort of writing do you really, REALLY want to do?

Next, ask yourself why. Why do you want to do it?

Asking these two questions ensures that what you’re doing, you’re doing for yourself and not for someone else, not because you think it’s the right or the best thing to do, or that it will bring you exactly the same success as someone else.

As Anna Quindlen so eloquently said, “If your success is not on your own terms, if it looks good to the world but does not feel good in your heart, it is not success at all."

In other words, you need to love what you do, otherwise it will make you miserable.

So by all means look at what others are doing to create their own success, but don’t copy them in every way. Take the clues they leave and make your own success out of it.

A good guide to whether you’re following the clues and using them correctly is to stop and see if it makes you feel good.

Our emotions are a perfect guide to what we want in life. So if it makes you feel good, then it’s the right thing for you. You’re following the right clues.

And never compromise your own ethics and morals to try and replicate what someone else is doing. Everyone, even those whom you think are perfect and mega successful, can have negative traits that don’t align with your morals and values.

Just use the clues wisely and you can go far. And at the same time, make sure you’re travelling your OWN road.

You don’t need to reinvent the wheel to be a successful writer. You just need to know how to follow the clues that have been left for you.

And remember: pay attention - a lot of attention - to what unsuccessful people do and AVOID what they do.

Just follow the right clues and follow your heart to become the successful writer you’ve always dreamed of being.

Don’t try and be a clone of someone else.
