This is day 25 of my journey to publish something every day (M-F) for 30 days.
Today I uploaded a new article to one of my niche sites and sent an email to my subscribers of that site.
Today I wanted to talk to you about how much you write (or how little).
I find that the more I write, the more money I make. And at the end of the day, money is important because if I don't earn enough, I can't work as a writer and would have to go back to being a (gulp!) employeeeeeeee.......!
And to make enough money each day/week/month, I need to write and I need to sell what I write.
The problem though, is that most of my writing income is residual. This means I don't earn as I write, I write and then earn money from my writing for the next few days/weeks/months/years. So I cannot know in advance how much I'll earn or where the money will come from.
There are some writing jobs I do where I get paid for what I write. For instance, last week I had to go to a restaurant, buy a meal to take out, go home, eat the meal and write about the food. I was paid for writing the report AND I was re-imbersed for the cost of the food, which I ate. What a sweet deal that was! I wish I could get an writing assignment like that every day.
But I digress.
I love to work as a writer and check my online accounts every day (or every week) to see how many sales I've made.
Some of the sales are from affiliate products that I sell, but most are from my own ebooks.
That's the beauty of writing ebooks. You only have to write them once and they can go on selling for years.
I might not get paid by the hour for writing ebooks but I earn money from them almost hourly.
And I can do this because ebooks are so easy and fast to publish.
I've read a few ebooks about e-publishing, and they are all pretty long-winded and go into too much detail about how to write an ebook. They also go into too much detail about how to publish an ebook and this information overload can make e-publishing sound very difficult to do.
But the truth about e-publishing is that it's easy AND you can publish an ebook on Amazon in a matter of hours.
It's a simple case of filling out your ebook's information (countries you want to sell it in, royalty rates you want, price of your ebook etc) which is simple and only takes a minute or two.
Then you upload your ebook file, preview it, and click submit. And if your ebook is written in English, it will be published and available for sale in less than 12 hours.
That means you can have your ebook published before you go to bed tonight.
It really is that easy.
That's why I wrote an ebook about it. To explain the simple process of publishing an ebook.
E-Publish and Be Damned! takes you swiftly through formatting and preparing your ebook manuscript for uploading to Amazon.com and Lulu.com and then guides you through the submission process, which is so easy-peasy you won't believe it.
And with e-publishing being so simple and so fast, you could be writing an publishing an ebook every week.
If you're not already writing and publishing ebooks on a regular basis, why not?
